Identify Your Sleeping Position

Sleep Position

What’s your go-to sleeping position? It will determine the best pillow density for you. Whether you sleep on your stomach (like a little h), back, side, or in a combination of positions throughout the night the right pillow density will provide optimum comfort.

Pillows by Sleep Style

Stomach Sleeper

Stomach sleeper

Stomach sleepers do best with a soft, thinner pillow that keeps your spine as straight as possible and cushions the head and neck at comfortable angles.

Our Recommendation: shop Soft Density
Back Sleeper

Back sleeper

If you sleep on your back, a medium-density pillow provides just enough support for your head and neck, while cradling the natural curvature of the upper spine.

Our Recommendation: shop medium density
Side Sleeper

Side sleeper

Side sleepers do best with a firm, extra firm, or gusseted pillow that contours and cradles the head, neck, and shoulders, providing an even sleeping surface to help keep the body in a horizontal line.

Our Recommendation: Shop Firm & Extra Firm Density

Pillow Filling

Down Feathers

How do you like your pillow to feel—soft and squishy, firm but with some give? When it comes to pillow fill there are a lot of options to choose from—no one is best, rather they all have pros and cons depending on your needs and personal preferences. From down and feathers to down alternative fill and memory foam, we have a wide assortment of fills in all shapes and sizes.

Legends Luxury Down Pillows

Down Pillows

One of the most luxurious pillow fills is down. Made from the fluffy undercoat beneath the feathers of geese and ducks, down is breathable and conforms to your head and neck for optimum support. More durable than synthetic fills, the down in our products goes through a rigorous cleaning process to ensure that it’s hypoallergenic. A down pillow is a worthwhile investment and with proper care a down pillow from The Company Store can last for years.

FUN FACT

Anything sold and labeled as “down” must have at least 75% whole down clusters and be labeled as such. The remaining 25% can consist of whole down clusters, fibers, and some small feathers.

Down & Feather Mix Pillows

Down & feather mixes tend to be more affordable than all-down pillows. In addition, feathers provide more firmness and support. The more down in the mix, the loftier the pillow.

Down:

  • Premium quality
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Can be dry cleaned or machine washed. Please check specific pillow labeling
  • Breathable
  • Available in multiple densities and sizes
  • RDS certified, ensuring it’s ethically sourced
  • White Down, White Goose Down, European White Down, European White Goose Down, Hungarian White Goose Down

Legends Down Alternative Pillow

Down Alternative Pillows

Down alternative fill is made of synthetic fibers that mimic the luxurious loft of down. For those with sensitivities to down or who simply prefer a down-free option, down alternative pillows are an excellent choice. We offer three types of down alternative fills at The Company Store: PrimaLoft®, LoftAIRE and TCS Down-Free™.

  • Great contouring and support
  • Easy maintenance
  • Durable

EXPERT TIP

Many pillows are machine washable and can be placed in the dryer. If your pillow label indicates it can be machine washed and dried, wool dryer balls are a great way to dry it faster and maintain the fluffiness of the pillow.

Wool Dryer Balls

Protecting Your Pillow

Use a pillow protector to extend the life of your pillow. It will provide an extra layer of protection against dust mites, moisture, stains, and bed bugs. We have a wide selection of pillow covers, including hard-to-find specialty sizes.

SHOP OUR PILLOW PROTECTORS

Storing Your Pillow

Just like bed sheets and comforters, pillows can be stored in a linen closet with sufficient airflow—a cool closet with shelves would be ideal. This will prevent musty smells from developing. Before you store away your pillow make sure it’s clean and completely dry. Storing a pillow that is damp can ruin it with mold and mildew growth.

Legends Hotel Best Down Pillows

Great Pillow

I ordered the extra firm option and am very happy with it. I am pretty picky with pillows and often find myself flipping them over throughout the night to get the right support under my neck. This one seems to be a lot better than most. It was lighter than I expected. A really great attribute of this pillow is the seams and fabric is thick and high quality so the down feathers don't start poking through. It feels like an upscale hotel pillow for sure!

Best pillows ever

I bought these pillows for my family. Pretty soon everyone was "borrowing" them from each other! They are very popular because they are so comfortable. The firm is supportive. Soft holds its shape, but is squishable. Medium is definitely the midpoint between the two. Soft is most popular at our house.

Best pillow I ever touched.

Using this as regular pillow for sleeping. It's certainly the best I've ever touched. Excellent firmness (I got the firmest one). Your head does not sink too far down in at all. Does not get too hot. No smell, no noise. Once in a while in life you encounter something that cannot be improved upon.

My favorite pillow EVER!

I've tried SO many pillows over the years, never found one that really worked for me. Decided to take a chance w/ this pillow, and just in case I ordered a different one at the same time, hoping that one of the two would be at least sorta comfortable. I used the "alternate" first, and wasn't real happy w/ it, so w/ some trepidation I put the special zipper cover on this one and tucked it into my pillow case. Read more
